Summer is right around the corner which means backyard potlucks, family BBQs, and all the summertime food. (Me: Give me all the lemons, berries and watermelon! haha) We’ve rounded up 14 of some of our absolute favorite BBQ recipes that are perfect for summer. We included both meat and non-meat entrees, side dishes, snacks/appetizers and dessert!

Anyone else associate eating burgers with warm summer nights? Perhaps that’s why they are so common with summer BBQs. I’ve recently gotten my meat-loving family to rave about these vegan sweet potato black bean burgers! These veggie patties are filling, flavorful and nutrient-packet. And did I mention how amazing these taste with avocado? (Can’t have a burger without some avocado!)

Can’t have a BBQ without some fruit kebabs! I can get very picky about arranging my fruit colors in the order of the rainbow. I need my order of red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple! Haha But any color order you create will be awesome! My fave fruits are raspberries, strawberries, clementines, pineapples, bananas, kiwis, green grapes, red grapes, blueberries, plums, cherries and figs.


Berry Coconut Chia Seed Pudding

This berry and coconut chia seed pudding makes for the perfect refreshing and summery dessert. You can also easily double or triple this recipe for larger crowds. And the best part? The toppings! You can serve this dish “buffet style” and let your friends and family choose from a wide array of toppings, such as fresh berries, bananas, cacao nibs or chocolate chips, coconut flakes, etc.


Almond Butter Jam Cookies

I remember begging my mom to buy those buttery apricot or raspberry  jam-filled shortbread cookies from Trader Joe’s when I was younger. Sometimes she would–as a treat. But now I love these almond butter jam thumbprint cookies, and I’m sure your friends and family will, too. Made with healthy, wholesome ingredients, these bite-sized cookies are a perfect after-dinner treat. (And to add a dash of Fourth of July festivity, plop a blueberry on top of each cookie.)
