How have you been doing being home all day with your little ones? Anyone else feeling like your kids are constantly asking for snacks? Snacks have definitely become a big staple at home, no day is complete without a lot of them. But we also want to make sure that we are feeding our kids healthy food that will properly fuel and nourish them throughout the day. Just because we are home, our bodies still need lots of energy–don’t forget that schoolwork takes lots of brain power! So that’s why we decided to put together a list of some yummy and healthy snacks that take little to no prep. Because let’s be real, when the hunger hits, you want to be prepared with a snack quickly! Enjoy these simple and healthy snack ideas that are perfect for schooling at home and active summer days.

 

  • Crackers with hummus or guacamole
  • Edamame
  • Frozen grapes
  • Hard boiled egg
  • Dried fruit (make sure there’s no added sugars)
  • Carrots with nut butter
  • Rice cakes with nut butter and banana
  • Rice cakes with mashed avocado/guacamole 
  • Popcorn (air-popped is best)
  • Mixed fruit bowl (fresh berries is always delicious)
  • Mixed nuts and string cheese
  • Clementines
  • Apple or banana with nut butter
  • Yogurt with fruit and granola
  • Cottage cheese with fruit and granola
  • Granola with milk
  • Toast with nut butter and jam
  • Sweet potato (prepped in advance) 
  • Roasted chickpeas (prepped in advance) 
  • Oatmeal (can quickly microwave it)
  • Veggies (carrots, cucumber, bell peppers) with hummus
  • Applesauce
  • Homemade granola bars (prepped in advance) or store-bought bars made with real, whole food ingredients (think Larabars) 
  • Medjool dates stuffed with nut butter
  • Homemade trail mix
  • Fruit with healthy fruit dip (check out this recipe)
  • Homemade popsicles (check our blog for some recipes!)
  • Kidzshake bliss balls (just need to blend all ingredients in a food processor)
